The project for transforming the power plant of the Austrian Power Co. in Kops into a place of exhibition, proposed to concentrate the visitors’ experience on the transformed role of water on the site. On their way up to the retained lake, visitors would cross the plant’s ‘flooded’ entry hall by walking on the glassy surface of a giant video monitor carrying a live aerial image of the water surface behind the dam. This body of water, which still generates enough energy to power its own electronic image, would have its surface electrified to also be experienced as an image. The model demonstrated this idea by rear projecting video static onto the triangular 'lake' above and playing the image of the rippling surface of water on the monitor below.
